Grading
34% for Performance assessments (playing exams, quizzes and concert attendance)
33% for Preparedness and practice (having what you need and being ready for class)
33% for Participation grade (classwork, attitude, effort, being on time, attendance, pull out rehearsals)
When I see the hard work and effort your grade will always reflect it. Missing work will have a reasonable window of 2 weeks to be handed in late but there will come a point when it is past due and a zero. Utilize Google Classroom and Infinite Campus to see what has been completed. I will post “material” in your Google Classroom so it is easy to find. It is your responsibility to be logged in at the beginning of class with everything you need without interruption. Your Google Classroom class code allows you the student to view posts, materials, assignments and any projects. Every class has a unique code and only students enrolled are allowed access to that Google Classroom. Please keep comments on Google streams appropriate and on topic.
Students in Band are required to practice in order to maintain their grade.
Grade 6 –At least 30 minutes a day for 5 days or 2 1/2 hours a week.
Grade 7 + 8–At least 45 minutes for at least 4 days or least 3 hours a week.
