Academic Success Through Health
"School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students. To that end, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self-management, self-advocacy and learning."
Adopted by the National Association of School Nurses, June 1999
Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:
As we start the 25/26 year, I hope your child is having a great year of academic success through health. This website has tabs at the top where you can choose a topic for health information, receive updates regarding present health issues, and up-to-date immunization information. If you have questions, please feel free to call me or your healthcare provider, as I work closely with some of them and the Vermont Department of Health as well. I can be reached by contacting Ludlow Elementary School between 11:00-3:00 at 875-5186 or Mount Holly School between 7:30-11:30 at 259-2379. My email is kristin.veysey@trsu.org.
I hope your child has a great school year!
Sincerely,
Kristin Veysey, BSN, RN
