Application Instructions
In order to get access to the online forms, you need to have a Google account. If you do not have one, please create one by clicking here.
The Troop 33 application process can be completed entirely electronically via use of Adobe Reader to fill in online forms. Only a copy of your medical card must be scanned and emailed in order to complete your application.
We will accept Scouts on a first come first serve basis. Your spot is reserved as of the date we have received your initial troop payment fee.
However, all enrollment is contingent pending receipt of all documents and transfer/registration through the beascout.org portal before the First Year Parent Orientation Meeting. No scout is allowed to participate in any troop activities until all documents have been received and approved.
Application Process Checklist
This outlines the process for scouts joining the First Year program. Contact the recruiting coordinator if this does not apply to you.
Make sure your child meets the age requirements: 11 years old OR have completed the fifth grade OR earned the Arrow of Light Award and is at least 10 years old

A Troop 33 representative will contact you via email to give you access to an online drive where you will upload the following digital documents:
BSA Medical form for the Scout (Part A and Part B)
Parts A & B are required for adults and scouts before going on any activity. You can fill in this information yourself - no doctor signature required.
Part C is required before attending any activity > 72 hours (i.e. summer camp) and must be completed by certified and licensed physicians (MD, DO), nurse practitioners, or physician assistants.
Scanned front and back of your medical insurance card.
Youth Protection Training (YPT) certificate for parents or guardians of scouts.
To take YPT, go to my.scouting.org and create an account. You’ll receive an email notification with your account information, including a member ID/reference number.
Upon YPT completion, upload your certificate to your folder.
In February, complete BSA online application to transfer or register your scout and pay national and council dues (as applicable) at the Be A Scout portal.
Note that if your child is a current Arrow of Light Cub Scout, you should not transfer your scout until their AoL has been awarded in Scoutbook. Once they are moved to the troop they can no longer earn the AoL award.

Scout will need to have a gmail account available for their use. This email will be used to send all troop communication from Scoutmasters and Patrol Leaders. This should be entered into the online registration form as the "Scout email address". If scout does not have one, please create one by clicking here.
Adults who are volunteering as Committee members or Uniformed leaders should consult the Pacific Skyline Council guidelines.
Troop 33 Fees
Secure a spot in Troop 33 (applies to Arrow of Light and Youth New to Scouting)
$115 Troop fee (covering BSA fee for adult leaders, T-shirts & neckerchief, merit badges, troop meetings and equipment, etc.)
$120 BSA Good Turn fee
$10 Processing fee
Total = $245
BSA Membership (applies to Youth New to Scouting):*
$80 BSA fee
$80 Council fee
$25 BSA One-time fee for new members
$6 Admin fee
Total = $191
Arrow of Light scouts should continue to pay all their pack fees. Please ensure that your BSA membership is current; this will ensure a smooth transfer to Troop 33.
