General Health Guidelines
PUBLIC NOTICE TO ALL CONCERNED
1. While the greatest possible care will be executed by the management to protect patrons of the Dodge County Fair, each individual will be held personally responsible for his or her actions, and the management will not be accountable or responsible for any injury
2. The Dodge County Agricultural Association management assumes no liability for loss or damage to any property of the concessionaire, exhibitor or patron, due to theft, fire, tornado, weather conditions or other causes.
General Rules
Livestock entries must have been in possession of the exhibitor for at least 30 days prior to the fair. Proof of ownership for registered stock will be checked during registration. All leased animals will need to have a current copy of their FFA showing lease agreement.
Registration will open January 1, 2024 at noon.
Entries are due at 11:59 pm on the Google Registration form on May 1, 2024. Registration fees may be paid in advance or at the show. Fees are due at noon on June 6, 2024. There will be a $10 per animal late fee for animals registered the day of the show
Health certificates must be available at the time livestock are unloaded.
Each exhibitor must keep his/her pens and alleys in front of his/her pens clean at all times during the fair.
No animal unworthy of a premium shall receive one, even though there be no competition.
The decision of the judges shall be final in all cases except where mistakes, fraud or misrepresentation not discovered at the time of the award is made, is apparent. In such cases, the Board of Directors’ decision is final.
NO PREMIUMS WILL BE PAID FOR ANY DISPLAY OR EXHIBIT IN ANY DEPARTMENT TAKEN OUT BEFORE THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED RELEASE TIME. ALL PENS NEED TO HAVE 2 FEET PULLED AWAY FROM THE WALL OR GATE SO SKID STEERS CAN GET IN TO CLEAN.
An exhibitor can exhibit up to two head per lot entry. Advisors reserve the right to create breed classes or consolidate breed shows based on registration numbers.
Minnesota FFA members will be eligible to exhibit if they meet the requirements of being an FFA member in good standing with their local chapter. Completed 7th graders through graduated members that are eligible to compete at the 2024 MN State Fair FFA Show may participate in the fitting contest, showmanship contest and dairy shows.
Participants are expected to follow the FFA code of ethics used by the MN State Fair FFA show.

NOTICE TO ALL EXHIBITORS OF LIVESTOCK
Official Veterinarian – Dr. Ross Bailey.
Exhibitors must keep their stalls and pens in good, neat condition and open for inspection from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and properly identify their exhibits (ex. Stall Card).
All livestock will be inspected by the official veterinarian on the opening date of the Fair. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to be aware of and to follow all the rules, regulations, and policies of the MN Board of Animal Health in regard to any and all diseases.
All out of state cattle shown at public exhibitions are to be accompanied by a health certificate issued by an approved veterinarian within 90 days prior to the opening date of the exhibition, and executed on the official health certificate from the state. HEALTH CERTIFICATE shall include the required brucellosis records. Cattle from other states will require a Tuberculosis negative test.
The official veterinarian of the fair shall have full authority in all matters of livestock sanitation as the representative of the board. It is suggested that all livestock exhibitors contact the official veterinarian as soon as possible.
The fair management will use diligence to insure the safety of livestock or articles entered for exhibition, after their arrival and placement, but under no circumstances will it be responsible for any loss, injury, disease, sickness or damage done to, or occasioned by or arising from any animal or article on exhibition, and the exhibitor shall indemnify the fair and management thereof against all legal or other proceedings in regard thereto.
Bedding will not be furnished by the fair association. Exhibitors are to furnish bedding and feed.
No one, except caretaker, designated by the Fair Board, shall stay in livestock barns at night.
No breed champion will be named unless two or more exhibitors are entered.
Due to show conflicts or 2nd animal per lot, animals need to be shown by an FFA member whenever possible. In case of illness, or other extenuating circumstances, an exhibitor may substitute another FFA member to show the entry. The substitute, however, must be pre-approved by the department superintendent. All persons leading or driving an animal into the judging area must be FFA members.
All animals must be shown in the arena to receive a premium and ribbon. No pen or stall judging.
