Program Overview (Listen instead of Reading)
Information Technology (IT) CyberSecurity is a two year program for High School Juniors & Seniors. Students will train in the fundamentals of computer hardware, software, networking and cybersecurity components to build computers, design networks, and provide security features to safeguard computers and networks, as well as choose their own Career Pathway for Success.

• Individual Career Pathway Courses
Careers:
Information Technology (IT) & CyberSecurity jobs can be found just about anywhere computers are in use including schools, colleges, hospitals, corporations, small businesses, factories, and local, state & federal government agencies. This is a fast growing career field with a 74% increase in openings predicted over the next five years. Qualifying seniors may participate in early job placement during a portion of their senior year, meaning you get paid while getting hands-on experience.

Students get real-world hands-on experience through our working Help Desk as well as Job Shadowing, Internships, Early Job Placement, and Work Based Learning.
All enrolled IT / CyberSecurity students earn College Credits through Career Technical Assurance Guides (CTAG), Ohio Department of Education WebXams, Industry Certifications & Credentials, and College Articulation Agreements.
Career Pathway:
Every student gets to choose their own Career Pathway related to Information Technology which means that each student can focus on things that interests them instead of a one size fits all curriculum. This type of Unstructured Learning allows all students to explore and excel in their desired career field. Example Career Pathways include Computer Hardware, Software, Networking, Security, Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Game Design, and more.
Career Technical Student Organization:
Business Professionals of America allows student to network with and compete against other students in their field of study at the local, regional, state, and national level in both individual and team events such as Device Configuration & Troubleshooting or Network Design Team and over 50 other categories such as Programming or Web Site Development.
To Prepare For This Class:
Basic computer skills which include typing on a keyboard, using a computer mouse, and performing fundamental computer tasks like opening software applications, and using a web browser to open web pages and search for content.
