Parents/Guardians:

Click on the grade level tab (above) for your child to see their current and past music assignments.

Beginning April 3rd you will receive a choice board from your homeroom teacher. To see the choice board for your grade level in music click on your grade level tab (kindergarten can be found in the More drop-down men on the right). You should complete at least one of the assignments I've given you for music. Of course, as always, if you wish for more to do you can let me know or have mom/dad email me. I miss you terribly and hope to see you in person before our school year ends. Stay healthy!

(From March 13).....see below

Packets with three weeks of instruction were sent home in baggies with students on March 13, 2020. For student in grades 1-5 music worksheets and in some cases a Boom Learning username/password was attached. Students in grades 6-8 will find their assignments in their Google Music Classroom. Information pertaining to the the work sent home for the first three weeks is detailed below. For future assignments and links refer to the tabs/buttons at the top of this page.

Coloring Worksheets

Please have your child write their first AND last name on each side of a paper as well as their homeroom (ex. 1R, 1S, 2R, 2Z, 3C, 3M, etc.).

For students given a coloring worksheet they need to look at the symbol in each section of the mystery/hidden picture. Towards the top of the page is a color key which inform students as to which color should be used for each section with a particular symbol. Students should recognize all symbols they were given with the exception perhaps of the first graders. They should be able to identify all but one symbol so therefore the area marked with the "unknown" symbol should be colored last. Any areas marked with symbol should be colored green. That will be the remaining color on the key they have not used.

In ex. 1 below students are asked to recognize the symbol that represents the ta notation. Any areas marked with the ta symbol should be colored green. In ex. 2 students are reviewing some of the important elements in music. The element called "rhythm" is represented by a capital "R" in the picture so any section in the picture with "R" should colored blue according to that color key. Most worksheets are similar in manner - ex. 3 is a great review of symbols fifth graders read in their recorder songs while ex. 4 has students reviewing the pitches on the treble clef and identifying their names.

ex. 2 - Color by Letter

Boom Learning

Boom cards are digital task cards used to help a student a)review material and/or b)assess a student's knowledge. They are an engaging and fun activity for students and while you as a parent may think they are playing a game, they truly are learning. Students earn "coins" for their skill/knowledge being assessed in a deck. When a student has earned 750 "coins" he/she can "buy" (with their knowledge - not your hard-earned money) a mystery avatar. Students like to compete with one another to see who can earn all the mystery avatar first. In addition to to "coins" students also earn lightening bolts for how fast/slow they remember/choose the correct answer. Students in grades 3-8 should already know their username/password (these should be attached to either their folder or their assignment planner) but can always email me if they have forgotten it or lost it. Students in grades 1-2 are relatively new to this and have been given a username as w ell as a picture password. These were sent home in their baggies on March 13th. If this has been lost or thrown away please email with your child's name and their homeroom (ex. 1R). I'll get back to you ASAP. My email is lkaemming@cktoledo.org. Click here to be taken to the Boom Learning site.

Stations of the Cross (Fill-In the Blank) Boom Cards

This is not a "required" homework assignment (no grade will be given). The the intent is to provide your children access to some Stations of the Cross "material" while masses and school have been cancelled during the rest of the Lenten season.

Stations of the Cross (Reflection) Boom Cards

This is for the older students and is not a "required" homework assignment (no grade will be given). The the intent is to provide your children access to some Stations of the Cross "material" while masses and school have been cancelled during the rest of the Lenten season.

I hope it helps provide your child with a chance to reflect about Jesus' last moments on Earth and to consider the kinds of choices they should say and do in their daily lives.
