EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION LAB FOR OUR CTE STUDENTS
PROGRAM REGISTRATION FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR will open Week of April 1.
If you are interested in Registering your 3-5 year old for the 2024-25 School year please complete the registration form.
Currently we are full for the 2024-25 school year. There is a waitlist.
Program Overview
The staff at child care centers play a vital role in shaping the future of our children. In the Trinity Early Childhood Education Program, high school students learn how to meet the needs of children while providing a safe learning environment that fosters all areas of development.
High School Students in the program are prepared for careers in the education or in the child care industry. High School Students enrolled in the Program at Trinity have the opportunity to work with children from the community three days a week through the Trinity High School Preschool Program. They plan and prepare age-appropriate lessons as well as maintaining a safe learning environment for the children. The program is designed to give the high schoolers the laboratory experience interacting with children and teaching them through various activities.
Certifications Students Work Towards:
Child Development Associate Ready Certificate
Infant and Child CPR Certification- American Red Cross
Better Kid Care 10 Hour Certification
Pediatric First Aid- American Academy of Pediatrics
Mandated Reporter Training
Pennsylvania Skills Certificate via NOCTI Exam

Intro to Early Childhood Education (year long)
Early Childhood Education 1 (year long)
Early Childhood Education II (year long)
Early Childhood Education III (year long)
Culinary Arts (one semester)
Culinary Arts II (one semester)
Just the FACS (one semester)
Future Career and Life Planning (year long)
ECE Observation and Projects and a Co-op/Internship (each a year long)

Early Childhood Education Program Details
Students have the opportunity to become a completer of the program and walk out of THS with real experience working with children as well as certifications they can take with them to the workforce. Students will be provide hands on working opportunities with preschoolers here at THS though the THS Preschool Program laboratory experience offered to families from the community. Students will also complete Observation & Project Hours .
