Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
Springtime in Wisconsin is finally here! We love seeing the sunshine, but as we all know, our local weather likes to keep us on our toes. To make sure our students stay cozy and happy during recess, we wanted to share a few friendly reminders:
Outdoor Adventures: We strive to get the students outside every single day to soak up that fresh air and burn off some energy!
The Magic of Layers: Since it might be chilly in the morning and beautiful by lunch, layers are your child’s best friend. A light jacket over a sweater works wonders.
Ready for Anything: Please ensure your little ones have the right gear for whatever the day brings—whether it’s a bit of wind, a splash of rain, or a bright sunny afternoon.
Thank you for helping us keep your children warm, dry, and ready to play! We are so grateful for your support in making every school day a great one.
As you start pulling out the summer clothes, we’d love your help with a quick "fit check" at home:
The "Golden Rule" for Shorts: To make sure everyone stays comfortable while running, jumping, and sitting in class, please check that shorts reach down to your child’s fingertips when their arms are relaxed at their sides.
A Helping Hand
We know how busy mornings can be! If a student happens to head out the door in shorts that have been outgrown, please don't give it a second thought. We have a cozy "lending closet" here at school and will happily provide them with a comfortable pair to wear for the day so they can play and learn without a worry.
Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our school family and for helping our students feel confident and ready for the day!

This is a wonderful learning/growing experience for your young Christian athletes.
SUPPORT FOR KEITH WORDELL
As many of you know, Shoreland faculty member and friend, Keith Wordell, has been courageously battling cancer and enduring difficult side effects for nearly three years. Recently, Keith faced another serious challenge when an infection led to the amputation of his leg just below the knee. During this time, many have reached out asking how they can support Keith and his family. We can do this by showing a unified effort from the Shoreland Federation and our broader community to come alongside the Wordell family with encouragement, prayer, and tangible support as they navigate this difficult journey together. Please consider the following:
1. Include Keith in your prayers in church over the next few weeks.
2. Share Keith and Laurie's address and encourage anyone who wants to support them, to send a card with encouraging words and a gift if they would like.
Keith and Laurie Wordell
7418 24th Ave.

3. Share the link to the Go-Fund Me that has been created by one of their daughters as another option for supporting them financially. https://gofund.me/57ca2330b

SLHS Partners,
I wanted to share some exciting opportunities we are working to offer for grade school students this spring and fall!
This spring, we are looking to start a flag football team for current 5th–8th graders. This will be a fun, low-commitment opportunity with practices and games on the same day (most likely Saturdays), and it will be completely free. Our goal is simple—give students a chance to stay active, have fun, and build a love for the game of football.
Looking ahead to the fall, we are planning to offer Jr. Pacers football teams:
A tackle football team for incoming 7th & 8th graders
Potentially a second team for incoming 5th & 6th graders (based on interest)
A possible flag football option for 1st–5th graders if numbers allow
Interest Form
If your child is interested in participating in football this spring or fall, please take a moment to fill out the interest form below:
Once I have a rough estimate of numbers I will send out the official sign up links.
We are also offering current 7th & 8th graders the opportunity to train in the Shoreland weight room this spring. These sessions will focus on teaching the fundamentals of strength, speed, and agility in a safe and supportive environment.
All sessions will be supervised by me
No sign-up required—students can simply attend
Both boys and girls are welcome.
A signed waiver is required to participate:
Junior Pacers Weight Lifting- Participation Consent Form
(Forms can be brought to the first session or sent to me ahead of time.)
Lifting Schedule:
Thursday, March 26 | 5:30–6:30 PM
Tuesday, March 31 | 5:30–6:30 PM
Tuesday, April 7 | 5:30–6:30 PM
Thursday, April 9 | 5:30–6:30 PM
Tuesday, April 14 | 5:30–6:30 PM
Thursday, April 23 | 5:30–6:30 PM
Tuesday, May 5 | 5:30–6:30 PM

I’m really excited about the opportunity to build something special for our younger athletes and help them grow both on and off the field. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Thank you, and we hope to see your child involved!
