This resource comes from Safe Secure Kids. One of the goals of Safe Secure Kids is to help prevent sexual harassment and abuse by communicating to kids early on about what consent is and how to respect each other's boundaries. It also includes important information on how to talk to young children about feelings and even stress. Safe Secure Kids consists of different activities, videos, and simple explanations. Along with ways to report abuse and donate in support of the prevention of sexual abuse.
This resource comes from Healthy Relationship Initiative and helps to explain why teaching consent from a young age is important and gives thoughtful tips to try when you begin the teaching process at home. They define important terms and provide a video to show to your child as a visual aid in their learning.
This resource will take you straight to the “Practice Consent” page of Saprea. The importance of teaching consent is emphasized along with ways to teach your child about consent. There are also ways to donate to their cause or help volunteer and impact your local community!
Safe Secure Kids was created through a partnership with the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape aimed at parents, caregivers, and teachers of elementary-aged children. They provide materials to parents and teachers to help them communicate to children on important topics such as consent.
Healthy Relationships Initiative is a partnership between UNC Greensboro’s Center for Youth, Family, and Community Partnerships and the Phillips Foundation. Their goal is to promote, happy, healthy, and safe relationships for everyone.
Saprea is made up of The Younique Foundation, Finding Hope Support Groups, and Defend Innocence. Together they aim to help society prevent sexual abuse and its lasting impacts.
