What is kickstart?
Kickstart is an online platform that is centered around helping parents teach their children consent and foster bodily autonomy from a young age. The platform consists of teaching progressions to help guide parents to instill the information in the most efficient and effective way. There are also answers to common questions to help clarify any confusion or clear up definitions of important terms. Kickstart is targeted at parents of children aged six to eight as sex education standards are applied in school right after this age.
About Me
My name is Emily Ellis and I am a Communication Major at Trinity University. I created headstart because I believe that the conversation surrounding consent needs to happen at an earlier age. I decided that combining all of the resources I found into one platform could help parents to teach consent to their children in the most effective way. I hope to make a difference in the lives of children and into their adult lives, making the conversation of consent a comfortable and normal one!
