At Treetops Preschool, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), where children develop through play based, engaging experiences. The Early Years Foundation Stage is a British framework that sets standards of learning and development from birth to five years.

The Early Years Foundation Stage follows a cycle of observing, assessing and planning for next steps. This allows practitioners to plan based on children’s needs and interests. At Treetops we will carry out daily observations of the children through photos, anecdotes, conversations, evidence of their work and videos.

The EYFS has seven main areas of learning: communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, expressive arts and design. Below are some examples how Treetops implement these areas on a day to day basis.
