Tree Walk: Locally Significant Plants of the Northeast Regional Library
TreesLouisville, in partnership with the Northeast Regional Branch of the Louisville Free Public Library, is working to bring knowledge and history of regionally significant plants to the public.
Walk through the campus and you will find these trees and shrubs on display, along with informational signage. Scan the QR codes to get a look into the history and qualities of each featured plant. This is a wonderful opportunity to get outside, enjoy some tree canopy and learn about Louisville's legacy of horticultural expertise!

Native Kentucky Tree Photo Scavenger Hunt
When: Monday, October 10th - Friday, October 14th
Where: Virtual/Online
Each day during Tree Week, the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District will ask their Grow More, Mow Less Facebook followers to find, photograph, and post a picture of a particular native Kentucky tree.
Each day, participants who find and share their own picture of the correct type of tree will be entered to win a swag pack, including a t-shirt, bumper sticker, seed packet, etc., with a new winner drawn daily! The native tree will be posted early in the day with a winner selected the following morning.

Adopt a Kentucky Tree
Adopting a tree is a neat way to acknowledge a tree that has somehow enhanced your quality of life, whether on a day-to-day basis basis or just one special moment. Participating in this program give you or your group an opportunity to join a community of "tree keepers" around the Bluegrass, who recognize the benefits and beauty that trees provide us.
Cave Hill Cemetery Arboretum Tour: Plants of Distinction
Since 2014, Cave Hill Cemetery has maintained official status as a Level II accredited arboretum with a burgeoning collection of over 600 different tree and shrub species, many of which have been recognized in local and national contests throughout the years.
Walk or take a drive through the cemetery and see first-hand what makes Cave Hill such a horticultural gem!
University of Louisville Belknap Campus Tree Tour
Where: Self-guided tours of the University of Louisville's Belknap Campus begin at the North Information Center, 1999 S. First St.
UofL's 309-acre parklike Belknap campus has over 2,500 trees representing over 130 species, many of which are native to our bioregion. UofL researchers and students have helped catalog over 1,740 individual trees on the core of Belknap Campus that represent a total of 117 species from 54 genera.
