Our cohort came together four times during phase one of the design journey. We gathered to build relationships, get inspired, and learn from each other. Three of our convenings were virtual using Zoom to connect and one convening was in-person. Please find the descriptions and resources from each of our phase 1 convenings below.

At this whole cohort kick off we will build community, introduce the goals of phase 1, and discuss the approach we will take on this design journey.

At this whole cohort convening we will discuss and practice how to lead interviews and focus groups so that we can better understand the experiences of the young people and caregivers that you serve.

During our in-person convening we will visit innovative school models to provide you and your team with inspiration for what the future of your school could look and feel like. We will also spend time making meaning of the interview and Leaps assessment data, learn about how the history of oppression and resistance manifests in schools today, and consider what future and current trends might mean in your context. Using all of these inputs, your team will select which Leaps to prioritize for phase 2 of the design journey.

This whole cohort convening will provide space for each team to share their case for change and get feedback from your peers. We will also celebrate the end of phase one and transition to phase two.
