Community Service

​Community service is a graduation requirement with credit given on the transcript, but only at the end of a student's senior year.

​All students are required to complete 200 hours of Community Service.

Once the community service log sheet is complete, please submit it in person or by using the black dropbox in the front of the Counseling Office. 

​​Students are now able to check their hours on Aeries!  Community Service is listed as a 9th period class - check how many "points" you currently have to see the number of hours we have on file for you. These hours will be updated by the end of each week.  You are welcome to complete more hours than required, though extra credits will not be awarded.

If you are unsure if your activity would count, please ask the Counseling Office ahead of time..  Accepted community service activities must be completed through a non-profit organization NOT a for-profit business of any type.  Some good examples of local non-profit organizations are: The Boys and Girls Club, Astoria Gardens, Tracy Interfaith Ministries, McHenry House, animal rescues and adoption agencies. A list of local approved organizations can be found above.
