About Me

My name is Katelyn Elton and I have been teaching for 4 years, the last 3 spent at Tracy.

My main instrument is the clarinet, but you will often find me playing along in all the kids' lessons, whether that be on the trumpet, drums, or anything else. In my time at Tracy I've worked to build up the solo/ensemble program (this year FORTY kids from 5-8th grade participated!), find new opportunities for the kids (more honor bands, field trips), and develop their sightreading skills. I've also created a bucket drumming class open to 10-12th graders.

In my free time, I play clarinet in the Southwest Minnesota Orchestra, play saxophone in the SMSU Community Band, play in local musicals, crochet, and play games with my friends.
