Your child's success is very important to me. To create and maintain a positive learning environment for all students, we will follow the behavior and discipline policies listed below.
*We expect all students to behave appropriately in school and will not tolerate students who prevent teaching or learning to take place. Our grade level discipline plan is called "B.A.M." and it is an acronym for (Behavior, Assignments, and Materials). This discipline plan utilizes a check system that begins at the beginning of each school week. For example, if a student displays an inappropriate behavior, fails to turn in an assignment, or forgets necessary materials for a particular class he/she will get a check. If a student receives three or more checks in any of these areas during a week's time then he/she loses the privilege of being part of a "Fun Friday" activity. Students not participating in the Fun Friday activity will be in a teacher supervised quiet room doing homework or reading a book. Students who follow the rules and stay within the guidelines of B.A.M. will be rewarded with an organized activity on Friday (e.g. extra recess, games, computer time, etc.).
*If at any time you would like to discuss behavior concerns, please feel free to contact us. When the teacher(s) and parent(s) work together, positive results are achieved. Please help your child learn appropriate behavior by supporting our attempts to instill positive behavior in your child.
