Staff members can attend 12 hours of in-district professional learning (PL) to become "AVID Trained." If you are interested in attending the TPS Virtual AVID Academy, please contact Angela Dick, TPS AVID District Director, for the Google Classroom code! adick@tps501.org
The certification process through AVID requires several staff members to attend training provided by AVID professional development. Many times staff can find necessary professional learning at one of the many summer institutes (S.I.) or Path Trainings that AVID offers across the country. To learn more about what is offered at S.I. or Path, log onto your MyAVID site and find a link to Summer Institute in the sidebars or find a Path Training near you. Go to www.my.avid.org and log in. If you do not know your log in, contact your building's AVID site coordinator.
Contact your building's instructional coach or site coordinator for more information about how to seek approval for attendance, and how to register for a virtual event.
