COVID Protocols

When do I have to wear a face mask or covering?

Face coverings are to be worn at ALL times while you are in the school building including classrooms, extra curricular activities, hallways, restrooms, buses, and entering and exiting the building. You can remove face coverings while eating at lunch and during authorized face covering breaks.

What if I forget my mask at home?

You are expected to provide your face covering every day you attend. Masks can be provided in an emergency but this will be monitored/limited. We will contact parent/guardian on the 3rd time this option is used.

What do I do if I’m feeling sick?

Students and families should monitor their health daily. If you start to exhibit any signs of COVID (fever, chills, fatigue, body aches, headache, sore throat, congestion, etc.) please stay home. You will be sent home if you come to school and exhibit these symptoms. Contact Nurse Okoroski with questions (419-671-1164). View this guide from TPS on symptoms.

What if someone I live with has COVID?

If a member in your household has tested positive for COVID, your household must quarantine/isolate for 14 days (starts from the first day of symptoms for the COVID-positive individual). Contact Nurse Okoroski with questions (419-671-1164).

School Protocols

How do I know if I’m in Group A, B, or C? What will my week look like?

This can be found in your Parent/Student Portal. If you have trouble finding it, you can also contact your counselor or secretary (419-671-1000). Groups are no longer being reassigned. See the full schedule here for what your week will look like.

What time do I have to be at school on my in-person days?

When you come to Rogers, you will attend classes on the regular bell schedule (8:00am-2:45pm) for all 7 class periods. See schedule here. Doors open at 7:30am.

What do I have to bring to school with me?

Every day you come to Rogers, bring your face covering, Chromebook & charger, Student ID & lanyard, supplies (i.e. paper, pens) and schoolwork/books as directed by each teacher. We are discouraging single-time use of water fountains, so bring a water bottle!

Charge your Chromebook the night before you come to school!

When am I allowed to go to the restroom?

You are encouraged to use the restroom during class time as permitted by your teacher. Limits will be placed on the number of students at a time. CPOs will monitor restroom breaks throughout the day.

What am I supposed to do on the days I’m not at Rogers?

For your Online Learning days, you will finish assignments and work as directed by each teacher. Finished assignments/work for each teacher will count toward attendance for those days. Wednesdays will continue to be online work days and a good day to reach out to your teacher(s) with any questions.

When will the building be open during Yellow?

Doors will open at 7:30am. Students must be out by 3:00pm unless in an extracurricular activity.

Can I use my locker during the day?

Use your locker before school, at lunchtime, and after school. We encourage you to keep locker stops brief and focused. Backpacks are not allowed to be carried from class to class.

Food, Transportation, Etc.

When do I get my student ID?

Student IDs will be distributed upon the first few days back to school. Students will be provided with an ID and lanyard which they will be expected to wear every day they are at Rogers.

What will lunch look like?

You will be able to choose who you sit with on the first day and this will remain your seat for the entire semester (as assigned seating). Seats are distanced with plexiglass shields. You will pick up your meal from one of our cafeteria windows and

You must remain seated while in the cafeteria unless visiting the pop machine or microwave. You must put your mask back on before using one of these.

Can I eat breakfast in the cafeteria before school?

Students will not be able to eat breakfast in the cafeteria before 8am. Make sure you eat breakfast before coming to school (See below on food distribution).

How can I get food on the days I’m not at Rogers?

Meal Distribution will continue on Wednesday’s at Door 20 from 10am-1pm. This will include breakfast and lunches for the days you do not attend in person.

How will TARTA operate during yellow?

TPS routes begin 2/22/21 (do not have to show student ID). Currently, TARTA only allows 10 passengers at a time which could affect reaching school on time. If a student is left behind, an additional bus will be sent by TARTA. Communicate with your teachers/admin if this becomes an issue for you.

If you have the ability to provide transportation for your students other than TARTA, we encourage you to utilize those options.

How do I know what bus route to take?

You can call TARTA 419-243-7433 (RIDE) and press 7 for Receptionist. You can give your address and they will help determine the best route for you. Ms Margie at Rogers (419-671-1000) is also able to help if needed.

My Chromebook is not working, what do I do?

If you are at school, a teacher can connect you with Mr. Martinek at Rogers.

You can also call any of the TPS Tech Support numbers to troubleshoot the problem.
