Year Two Weekly Update

Review (This week)

English : We have finished writing our own versions of The Ning Nang Nong

Maths : We have finished our fractions unit.

Science: We have looked at solids, liquids and gases.

Preview (Next week)

English : We will look at spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Maths : We will begin to look at measures.

Science: We will look at making materials hotter and colder.

This week, we have discovered how solids and liquids are different. We have also started investigating gases and made lava lamps.

On the ning nang nong

We've enjoyed using a story map and actions to help us remember the Ning Nang Nong. We enjoyed writing our own and performing them to our friends.

Swimming is such an important skill. The children who swim every week are getting better and better! Please remember your child's swimming kit on a Tuesday and please let us know if your child cannot swim for any reason.

Farewell, friend!

This week we said goodbye and good luck to Alex as he will go back to his home in Malta. We had a lovely party to say goodbye:

Spellings: High Frequency Words

Please make sure you are reading with your child and writing in their Reading Records.


Notices:

  • Please send your child into school with their hats, water bottles and folders.
  • Please be reminded about the importance of children wearing safe and appropriate footwear to school. It states in the parent handbook that 'open-toed sandals, flip flops or crocs are not allowed'
  • School photos will be taking place on Thursday and Friday

PE is on Monday and Thursday (they may wear their kit all day).

Swimming is on Tuesday (please label their kit, goggles and cap with their name).
