Year Two Weekly Update

Review (This week)

English :

We have been writing instructions for 'How to make a mummy!'.

Maths :

We have begun looking at fractions focussing on parts of a whole and finding half, a quarter and a third of shapes.

Science:

We have introduced our new topic: 'changing materials'.

Preview (Next week)

English :

We will begin a unit on poetry looking at Spike Milligan's 'On the Ning Nang Nong'.

Maths :

Fractions of shapes and amounts.

Science:

Reversible and irreversible changes.

We really enjoy our Thai lessons with our amazing Thai teachers.

We have been learning days of the week, the alphabet or the final consonant.

Having lots of fun in art class!

Notices:

  • Please send your child into school with their hats, water bottles and folders.
  • Please be reminded about the importance of children wearing safe and appropriate footwear to school. It states in the parent handbook that 'open-toed sandals, flip flops or crocs are not allowed'
  • Our assembly is coming up on Friday 15th March on The Ancient Egyptians. We sent out a letter about costumes before half term. If there are any issues with costumes, please let us now.

PE is on Monday and Thursday (they may wear their kit all day).

Swimming is on Tuesday (please label their kit, goggles and cap with their name).
