Year Two Weekly Update
Monday 25th March - Friday 29th March
Review (This week)
English : We have looked at homophones and using apostrophes for contractions.
Maths : We have learnt how to measure length in cm and m.
Science: We have looked at material changes using the words: melt, harden and freeze.
Preview (Next week)
English : We will be reviewing our learning from the term- instructions, poetry and grammar.
Maths : We will be reviewing our learning from the term- shape, fractions and measures.
Science: We will be completing our 'material changes' unit and assessing what we have learnt.
Measures
This week we have enjoyed learning about length and how to measure in cm and m using different equipment.

Please make sure you are reading with your child and writing in their Reading Records.
Notices:
- Songkran celebrations are on Friday 5th April. Between 8:00 and 9:00am there will be a morning ceremony for a blessing and food offerings to be given to the monks. From 1:30pm there will be small performances and Thai games for all to enjoy. This will be followed by water splash until 3:30pm.
Reminders:
1. Students should come to school with their flower printed shirt and normal school uniform skirts/shorts/trousers.
2. Students must bring their swimming suit, hat, and flip flops to change into before the water splash activity. And parents are advised to provide sunblock for your child to apply before the activity. Early Years teachers and assistants will help with this for younger children.
3. Students should bring clothes to change into after water splash activity and a plastic bag for their wet clothes.
4. Students may not bring any type of water gun; the school will provide plastic bowls for the students to use.
- The Songkran break is from the 8th - 19th April. Students will be back in school on the Monday 22nd April.
- Please sign up for a 10 minute meeting after school, on Wednesday 3rd April, to discuss your child's progress this term as part of Parent Consultation Day. If after school times are inconvenient for you, please speak to us or e-mail us to organise a more convenient time.
- Summer School is available from 1st - 19th July. Please speak to the office for more information and to sign up.
- Please send your child into school with their hats, water bottles and folders
- Please be reminded about the importance of children wearing safe and appropriate footwear to school. It states in the parent handbook that 'open-toed sandals, flip flops or crocs are not allowed'
PE is on Monday and Thursday (they may wear their kit all day).
Swimming is on Tuesday (please label their kit, goggles and cap with their name).
