Year Two Update

Monday 4th March - Friday 8th March

Review (This week)

English : We have started learning the poem 'On the Ning Nang Nong'. We are learning it by reciting it using actions.

Maths : We have been looking at fractions of amounts.

Science: We have looked at new scientific words for changing materials.

Preview (Next week)

English : We will continue to look at 'On the Ning Nang Nong' and begin to write our own versions of the poem.

Maths : We will solve problems involving fractions.

Science: We will look at reversible and irreversible changes in a variety of materials.

We have been finding half, quarter and three quarters of an amount. We started off by using pocky sticks to help us work out the answers.

Super Swimming and yoga

We have been using our 'rainbow arms' to swim freestyle whilst learning how to kick our legs properly. We also enjoyed our yoga session on Monday morning.

Homework :

Maths: Page 122 of Practice 2B book. Extension - page 122-123 and Challenge page 122-124.

English: Rehearse 'How to make a mummy!' using the picture glued into your homework book.

Spellings: Week 8

Please make sure you are reading with your child and writing in their Reading Records.


Notices:

  • Please send your child into school with their hats, water bottles and folders.
  • Please be reminded about the importance of children wearing safe and appropriate footwear to school. It states in the parent handbook that 'open-toed sandals, flip flops or crocs are not allowed'

Our assembly is coming up on Friday 15th March. We will also have our Family Friday activities based on the Egyptians theme after our assembly.

PE is on Monday and Thursday (they may wear their kit all day).

Swimming is on Tuesday (please label their kit, goggles and cap with their name).
