Year Two Weekly Update

Monday 5th November - Friday 9th November

Review (This week)

English : We have been learning how to use non-fiction books to find answers to our questions.

Maths : This week, we have been using dollars, cents, pounds and pennies to add money together and work out how much change to give.

Science : We have looked at batteries vs. mains electricity and how to make a circuit.

Preview (Next week)

English : We will continue to look at non-fiction books.

Maths : We will start our new module on multiplying by grouping and using arrays.

Science : We will be looking at closed circuits and conducting more investigations into electricity.

More money

The children have enjoyed using currencies from other countries this week. They have applied their understanding to different problems too.

Fact or fiction?

In English we have continued identifying the features of fiction and non-fiction books.

Super science

In Science lessons we have been making simple circuits!

Year 2 assembly

Maths: MyiMaths adding and money

Some people have had difficulty logging into MyiMaths because they are trying to log into MyMaths. Don't forget the 'i' (it stands for international).


Notices:

  • Please be reminded that books borrowed from the library must be returned in order to get a new one.
  • Please remember to sign your child's Reading Record when they have finished the book.
  • Your child should have come home with their lines for our Christmas production, 'Santa's Hat'. Rehearsals will start soon for our performance in December. Please practise the songs and lines at home.


Homework expectations:

Monday- homework from the previous week is due in

Tuesday- new homework (1 English + 1 Maths/MyiMaths)

PE is on Monday and Thursday (they may wear their kit all day).

Swimming is on Tuesday (please label their kit, goggles and cap with their name).
