Week Thirteen
Year Two Weekly Update
Monday Nov 27th - Friday Dec 1st
Review (This week)
English : We have begun our new book - The Dark by Lemony Snicket. We predicted what Lazlo might find in the box in the basement. We drew what we thought the dark would look like if he/she was a person and have also written descriptions of him/her using adjectives.
Maths : We have been looking at 2D and 3D shapes and their properties. We used our bodies to work in teams to create different 2D shapes.
Science : We have looked at different animals that produce their own light.
Preview (Next week)
English : Exploring dark places in school and comparing light and dark places using comparative language.
Maths : Pictographs and bar graphs
Science : Exploring how light travels
Homework :
- MyMaths
- Daily reading
- Spellings
Dear parents,
We have begun rehearsing for our Christmas production. Thank you so much to all of you who helped your children to practise their lines at home! A letter will be going home about simple costumes that your children will need for the performance. If you could get these into school as soon as possible I would be very grateful.
Reports: Your child's report will be sent home next Friday. This will be followed by parent-teacher consultations on Wednesday 13th. You can sign up for an appointment to see me in the Admin Building.
I hope you have all had a lovely week,
Emma Norman
