Richard Contreras
Head Coach (Varsity)

Richard Contreras is the Head Coach of the Torrey Pines Swim Team. The 2023-2024 season will be the 28th year Richard has been coaching the TPHS Falcons. Richard began coaching the Torrey Pines team in 1996 and became the head coach in 2003. He has been honored to be named as CIF Division I "Coach of the Year" for the North County Conference three times.

Richard Contreras was a two-year starter on the Sierra College water polo team earning All-League honors as a sophomore. He earned All-League honors in the 200 Butterfly as a member of the Sierra College swim team.

Richard is a graduate of California State University, San Marcos where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American history. He also likes burritos.

Jade Foyston
Assistant Coach (J.V.)

Jade Foyston is the Torrey Pines Junior Varsity Swim Coach.   Jade is an alumni of TPHS having graduated in 2020 and is excited to be a part of the coaching team again this year after having been a Falcon swimmer herself.  Jade's events include the 50, 100, 200 & 500 Freestyle and the 100 Butterfly.

Jade began swimming competitively at age 14, after joining the Rancho San Dieguito (RSD) swim team, and her hard work and dedication to the sport allowed her to improve and move up quickly within the team.  Jade decided to share her love of swimming with others by becoming a swim instructor and lifeguard for the Boys and Girls Club, which eventually led her to joining the coaching team at RSD at the age of 17.

Currently, Jade is working towards her Bachelor's degree in Psychology. When Jade is not at school or the pool, she enjoys driving around town in her little Volkswagen Bug, snorkeling in La Jolla Cove and eating elote & chicken tacos at the Taco Stand! Jade also really loves sea creatures and anything that has SpongeBob Squarepants! 

K.C. Tudor
Head Dive Coach

K.C. Tudor has been with the TPHS swim team since 1995. He has over 25 years of experience coaching competitive swimming/diving and over 20 years of experience coaching high school athletes.
