These resources are designed to not only help students understand math concepts but to alleviate any associated math anxiety. The key is to keep it FUN!
Drilling students on arithmetic and pushing them to spend long periods of time on concepts they are struggling to understand are counterproductive. These will lead a student to becoming math averse; wanting to avoid math. Make it enjoyable! Take on a challenging problem as a family or find a game that your student enjoys. Laugh and have fun!
If you are concerned about your student's overall achievement level in mathematics, please speak to their teacher.

- Bedtime Math - Designed for students up to grade 5, this app is a primary resource for our math anxiety prevention program. Their goal is the same as ours: to make discussing math and problem solving fun and stress-free. The app is free to download and available in both English and Spanish. - Figure This! - Fun math challenges designed to be worked through together as a family
- K-5 Math Teaching Resources - Lessons and activities around each specific math standard for grades K-5. Use the toolbar across the top of the website to access free resources.
- Khan Academy - A huge variety of resources, including videos and interactive activities, covering all aspects of academic learning
- Learn Zillion - This site offers a large variety of instructional videos on math concepts. It is aimed at students in grade 2 and higher. Registration required, but the "free" plan is sufficient for parental use.
- NCTM Illuminations - Lessons, games, and interactive activities for all grade levels and math concepts.
- Problems of the Month - Problems that focus on concepts and problem solving rather than arithmetic. Each problem has 5 levels (A through E), with the concepts becoming increasingly more complex as the level gets higher. These are great for working together with your student to come to an answer. The name is a bit misleading, as all the problems are currently available for download.
- PBS Learning - A wide variety of resources, ranging from explanatory videos to interactive activities.
- PBS Kids - Fun apps and games for learning

- Filament Learning Games - Games to make learning and mastering math concepts fun! Cost depends on game, ranging from about $3 to about $6.
