国際地域専攻では専門領域(Academic Subject)の科目群を以下の5つのグループに分けています。
国際関係・開発政策領域
国際政治、経済など地域開発・国際協力に係る政策立案に必要とされる専門科目です。科目例:「経済地理学」「国際関係論」「国際協力論」「国際政治学Ⅰ」「ミクロ経済学Ⅰ」「ミクロ経済学Ⅱ」「マクロ経済学Ⅰ」「農村地域開発論」
比較文化領域
文化、宗教や地理など世界の各地域の特徴を中心とする専門科目です。科目例:「文化人類学入門」「国際教育学」「アジアの歴史」「開発と異文化理解」「アジアの地誌と文化」「Volunteers for Cultural Exchange」
コミュニティ・地域政策領域
地域社会に関わる問題、政策、制度などに関する専門科目です。科目例:「地方自治論」「地域社会学」「社会保障論」「コミュニティ開発論」「都市計画」「まちづくり論」「地域デザイン入門」
環境・情報・インフラ領域
環境やエネルギー問題、インフラなど地域開発の基盤についての専門科目です。科目例:「環境マネジメント」「国際環境計画入門」「自然災害と防災」「国際インフラ論入門」「情報マネジメント」
グローバル・イノベーション分野
グローバル社会に関わる問題を論じる英語の専門科目です。グローバル・イノベーション学科によって開講されます。科目例:「Career Development」「Role of International Organization」「Introduction to Entrepreneurship」
上記の専門分野に加え、大学での学びの基礎となる「Study Skills」科目、フィールドワーク・インターンシップを含む「Project Study」科目、さらに他学部の科目を学ぶことができる「全学基盤教育科目」「全学共通教育科目」があります。これらを組み合わせることで、国際地域に関する学びを一層深めていきます。

In the Department of Regional Development Studies, academic subjects are categorized into the following five specialized groups.
International Relations and Development Policy Field
This group comprises subjects necessary for designing policies concerning regional development and international cooperation including international politics and economics. Sample Courses: "Economic Geography" "International Relations" "International Cooperation" "International Politics I" "Microeconomics I" "Microeconomics II" "Macroeconomics I" "Integrated Rural Development"
Comparative Culture Field
This group comprises subjects mainly covering the characteristics of vatious in the world, including cultures, religions and geographies. Sample Courses: "Introduction to Cultural Anthropology" "International Education" "Asian History" "Development and Intercultural Understanding" "Geography and Culture of Asia" "Volunteers for Cultural Exchange"
Community and Regional Policy Field
This group comprises subjects concerning problems, policies and systems related to regional societies. Sample Courses: "An Introduction to Local Administration" "Sociology of Community" "Social Security" "Community Development" "Urban Planning" "Community-based Planning & Design" "Introduction to Regional Design"
Environment, Information and Infrastructure Field
This group comprises subjects about the foundations of regional development, including the environment, energy issues and infrastructure. Sample Courses: "Environmental Planning and Management" "Introduction to International Environmental Planning" "Natural Disaster and Disaster Risk Reduction" "Infrastructure Planning and Management" "Information Management"
Global Innovation Studies Field
This group comprises specialized subjects for discussing problems concerning global society in English. It is offered by the Department of Global Innovation Studies. Sample Courses:"Career Development" "Role of International Organization" "Introduction to Entrepreneurship"
In addition to these specialized fields, students take "Study Skills" courses that form the foundation of university-level learning, and "Project Study" courses, which include fieldwork and internships.
Students may also take "Fundamental Education Courses" and " Common Education COurses" which allow them to study subjects offered by other faculties.
By combining these courses, students are able to deepen their understanding of global and regional issues from multiple perspectives.
