第３回グローバル地中海映画上映会　映像民族誌『ジプシー巡礼祭』

　本拠点は、「人類学A」（基盤科目）との共催により、拠点構成員の左地亮子東洋大学准教授が昨年度の現地調査を基に製作した下記の映像作品の上映会を行います。

あらすじ：

南仏カマルグ地方の町サント゠マリー゠ドゥ゠ラ゠メールで毎年５月に開催されるカトリック巡礼「ジプシー巡礼祭」には、フランス内外から多くのジプシーが参集する。2023年、巡礼祭のハイライトとなる聖サラの行列にあわせて、非ジプシーも含めた約4万人もの人びとがこの小さな町に集まった。

Global Mediterranean Film Screening, vol. 3: Visual Ethnography The Gypsy Pilgrimage

Global Mediterranean at ACRI is organizing a screening of the following visual ethnography by our member Ryoko Sachi, based on field research she conducted last year.

The Gypsy Pilgrimage: More than One, Less than Many directed by Ryoko Sachi (2024, 50 min., in French with Japanese subtitles)

Synopsis:

The Gypsy Pilgrimage, a Catholic festival held every May in Sainte-Marie-de-la-Mer, a town in the Camargue region of southern France, attracts many Gypsies from both France and abroad. In 2023, approximately forty thousand people, both Gypsies and non-Gypsies, attended the parade of Sainte Sara la Noire, a highlight of the festival.
