講演＆コンサート　「レベティコ——東と西のはざまで」
　ギリシアは1821年、オスマン帝国からの独立を宣言。「レベティコ」とは、その独立戦争から、20世紀初めの希土戦争、住民交換、第二次世界大戦、内戦までを経てきたギリシア人の音楽である。近代国家ギリシアが、「東」と「西」のはざまで揺れながら歩んできた激動の歴史を、色濃く反映した音楽、レベティコ。
　この間もギリシア人は、移民として、アメリカへ、オーストラリアへと渡った。こうしたディアスポラの「今」を、音楽として表現するバンドが来日。オーストラリアを拠点に、新しいギリシア文化を、多角的に追求するプロジェクトGreek Fringeのメンバーと、アテネが拠点のバンドRebetienに参加し、ギリシアとオーストラリアを行き来するメンバーが、ここに合体する。
　ギリシアの歴史とディアスポラの音楽を、独立宣言201年目の「今」、ここ日本で体験する。

Lecture & Concert “Rebetiko: Between the West and the East”

Modern Greece was born when the independence from the Ottoman Empire was declared in 1821. Rebetiko is a popular Greek music that have been formed through the modern Greek history; War of Independence, Greco-Turkish War, Population Exchange among both countries, WWII, Civil War, etc. Rebetiko reflects historical experiences of the Greeks, heisted and waved between West and East, or Occident and Orient.

During these severe times, some Greeks immigrated to USA and Australia. We invited three modern Rebetiko musicians from Australia and Greece for a small concert in Japan, with the special lectures by our Japanese colleagues for the introduction.  

We invite the audience to feel the modern Greek history and the Greek diaspora music in the year of 2022, the 201st anniversary of the declaration of Greek independence.
