BNERC:Academia - Industry workshop on advanced bio-nano technology

The Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre and Graduate School of Interdisciplinary New Science held a special workshop on “Surface characterisation of nano materials” in collaboration with international companies

The Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre (BNERC) has recently introduced a truly advanced nanoscale surface characterisation system called the “Hard X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopic (HAXPES) System”, which had been developed by Ulvac-Phi Incorporation. BNERC and the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary New Science (IdNS) organised a special workshop on “Surface characterisation of nano materials” in collaboration with some industrial institutions.

Quite a few researchers and engineers from both academic and industrial institutions participated in the workshop. Several excellent results obtained using this new spectroscopic system were demonstrated and some potential applications of the system to the characterisation and analysis of unrevealed nanostructures were actively discussed.

Finally, the participants visited the HAXPES to experience and feel the actual performance of nano surface characterisation.
