Between Shadow and Light lie Webs of Grey
Sisälläith was (until recently) ruled by the Sietsmal, undead servitors of the artifact armor they bore as a sign of mastery over the living and the dead.
The whole world is bisected by the "Ruins of Devstalos" (the mad god from Talrand)
Lightside (North of ruins) and Shadeshide (South of Ruins) are the two surface realms, are broken into three domains each
Lightside has Amrana - the lands of men, and the only truly free area in Sisälläith. The Mountain regions of Hengen are covered in glaciers with little citadels poking out around volcanic vents, and protected by their lightwellsl (a remnant of one of the enchantments used to kill Devstalos). Last is Rautaydin, which is the land of the free dwarves, who live above and below the surface. In the lands below, they battle undead, their dark bretheren, and other horrors to defend their deep homes and mines.
A scar of a great canyon, enshrouded in Mist, and deeply set with miles of webbing separates Lightside from Darkside. In the center of that strand of madness lies the ruins of an impossibly huge city, now populated only by the Stitchers (arachnid-humanoid arcanists) and their strange artifacts.
The three Domains of Shadeside are Gniloy, Land of the Bloodfens. Whatever once was here has been despoiled by generations of Goblins and trolls. Among the Ghouls, Gniloy is the larder of the lands, with the blood-moss plateau dominating the landscape. Far to the East are the Urad Lands - the surface is volcanic mess, and largely populated by dark dwarves beneath the deep places. It was once the capitol state of Sisälläith, until the recent calamities. The dwarves hold the surface, as well as underground citadels. Far to the south, forever obscured beneath an endless shroud of ash and shadow lies Varjo, the Ghoul-Lands. Populated by the once-mighty undead rulers of this realm, it is filled with endless goblin slaves, dark dwarven troops, undead of many shapes and sizes, and demons.
Each of the six domains used to have one of the Sietsmal in them, who ruled absolutely through the vassals each kept. When the Well of Time opened the gateway between Sisälläith and Toworia, bad things started happening. The gods of Toworia summoned their Scions, having them charge through the portal in the depths of the Tower. The rampant expansion led to the fall of many of the Seitsmal, as divine chosen destroyed enemies, converted residents, and claimed lands for their own. In the counterstroke, perpetrated by the Vampire Lords of the Urad Lands, all but three of the Scions were dispatched. Much to their horror, when the gods of Toworia tried to re-absorb the divine essence from their fallen, it returned back to them tainted, and the ensuing backlash of entropy and strife nearly sundered the Tower.
Only three of the Seitsmal remain - Nahrudkic-Kol, who holds the Breastplate of Night, Rukavicy who has the Gauntlets of Pain, and Shilem of the Midnight Helm Each of them still hold a demense within each of the Shadeland domains.
Malkoak, the Fatebender Scion of Wyskin, Pemptos D'Cinq, the Scion of Intruige for Ash, and Chirombo the Manhunter, a monstrous Chosen of Omena all defeated members of the Seitsmal alongside all the other Scions, but only they lived to claim their spoils - the artifacts the undead fiends wielded against them. All three have gone missing.
The death of so many Seitsmal led to a complete top-down collapse in Urad Lands above and below the surface, and a withdrawl of all the Ghoul Lords from Gniloy and the Urad Lands into Varjo, who has barred their Blood Iron gates.
