Mini Stroke

After getting the boat into great shape, splashing down and loading with good food and drink in Grenada, Ruth and I sailed north headed eventually to Florida. We had a great sail 40 miles to the Island of Carricaou. We anchored in Tyrell bay for the night and the next day aright after breakfast Marvin's right eye suddenly developed a cloud over the top 1/2. We immediately sailed back to St. George Grenada. After 3 days of talking to doctors, we put the boat back on the hard in Spice Island Marine and flew home. After several visits and many tests, it was determined that Marvin had a mini stroke caused by a small piece of plaque/cholesterol blocking part of his optical nerve. Marvin underwent a carotid endarectomy on Jan 13 to unclog his carotid artery and hopefully prevent further strokes. All went well and he is now recovering. Follow-up visits and tests scheduled for Feb 4 , 9 and 10. after which Marvin and Ruth plan to return to Grenada to resume cruising
