In today’s world, all employers benefit from having a staff of ‘globally-savvy’ employees whether in the form of conversing in a language other than English, understanding the culture of another country, or being able to work with

colleagues from other parts of the world. The Connecticut State Dept. of Education finds this instruction crucial and, as a result, has developed a new academic

designation for global competence and civic engagement. If students pursue and successfully complete this program, they will receive this special designation on their high school transcript documenting their receipt of a Global Engagement Certificate upon graduation.
