Welcome to my E-Portfolio!
My name is Irene Rincon, and I was born and raised in Los Angeles County. I completed my undergraduate studies in May of 2022 at California State University Dominguez Hills, where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services. Before my MSW program, I always used my free time to work with children and youth in after-school enrichment programs and in-school-based behavioral therapy. After such an experience, I decided to move towards social work to work closely with children and their families within the child welfare system and get closer in obtaining my License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW). Shortly after, I started my MSW program in the Fall of 2022 with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Families at CSUDH, and I anticipate graduating in May of 2024.
I appreciated how the CSUDH MSW program approached social work regarding its current state and how it should be, utilizing the Critical Race Theory framework. I love this field as it is full of endless capabilities for promoting and creating change on an individual and structural level. This E-Portfolio showcases areas of growth and self-reflection. This MSW program developed and shaped my knowledge of utilizing micro, mezzo, and macro skills in my practice, and my demonstrated work will entail just that. I can not wait to embark on this new journey as an incoming social worker at the Department of Children and Family Services, and I want to thank you for taking the time to view my selected MSW program projects. I hope you enjoy it.
