Physical Challenges
Avery
Avery worked on her handstands. She set a goal for each week. Here you can see her hold it longer and longer each time!
Allegra
Allegra's goal was to do five pushups. When she started she wasn't able to do any. She worked hard to complete her goal!
Jack
Jack chose to work on his dribbling. He practiced the same drills almost everyday. Check out his mad skills!
Isaiah
Isaiah wanted to do 40 pushups in one go. He went further and got to 50!
Medby
Medby decided to work on his speed. He practiced running the same distance and timing his efforts. His times are at the end of the video.
Elizabeth
Elizabeth's goal was to lose 5 pounds through eating well and increasing her exercise. She worked on increasing her plank time throughout the three weeks and got it from about 30 seconds to over a minute.
Rizzy
As a student of Tae Kwon Do, Rizzy chose to work on her Round Tornado Kick. She practiced for 10-15 minutes as often as she could in order to perfect some slight timing and balance errors she was making.
Timo
Timo is aiming to be able to ollie off of his ramp this summer. He's been practicing and skateboarding everyday to master the basics. Stay with it Timo, you're making progress.
Round Two Projects: Here are the results from our second round of independent art projects from May-June.
Mia
Mia made progress improving her endurance this round of the independent project. She was driven to improve her personal records for holding a plank. She pulled off a 3 minute plank, and is proud to say, "There is no way I would have been able to do that before."
Olivia
Olivia was determined to master doing a backflip on her trampoline independently. She enlisted the help of her mom to get her closer to her goal. While she wasn't able to land one unassisted yet, she made plenty of attempts, improving each time.
Iggy
Iggy wanted to capture his journey towards juggling a soccer ball 100 times in a row. He was sure to capture his progress, from start to finish. Go Iggy Go!
Rizzy
Rizzy wanted to continue practicing her tae kwon do during the past three weeks, and set out to work on her spinning hook kick.
Jack
Jack initially wanted to improve his ollie, but wasn't able to complete the challenge due to a family camping trip that compromised his ability to practice.
Nate
Nate intended to practice mountain biking every day to improve his wheelie. Hopefully his results were successful.
Timo
Timo hoped to practice catching and throwing a football with his non dominant hand, but got injured during the process. He wasn't able to practice the entire time, but managed to squeeze in some time after recovery!
Elizabeth
Elizabeth set out to get stronger during this independent project. She chose to complete a 2 week long exercise challenge to build up her fitness level.
