Have you ever wondered what a reading and vocabulary learning segment looked and sounded like for your child in school? Well now is your chance! Come experience a reading and vocabulary learning time through the lens of your child! During the session, Mrs. Gardiner will read aloud a book from the district's Into Reading curriculum and provide insight on how to build knowledge and language from reading a text aloud. At the end of the session, resources will be offered to support building knowledge and language through read alouds at home!
Join Miss LoVoi to learn how to strengthen early literacy skills through fun, practical games you can play at home. Families will explore simple, engaging literacy activities that help children grow into confident little readers. During this session, families will discover games they can easily buy, games they can make themselves, and simple materials they can use to turn everyday moments into meaningful reading practice. Participants will also leave with everything they need to play a fan-favorite literacy game — KABOOM! Along with hands-on ideas and easy-to-use resources to keep the learning going at home.
Join Mrs. Feeney and Mrs. Matson to learn and play a number of quick (rapid, whistlestop, expeditious) and easy (effortless, uncomplicated, easy-breezy) vocab games that your family can play together. Besides having a ball, you will take home resources to enjoy games that will increase and deepen your child(ren)’s word knowledge. The more words you know the smarter you are!
