Praxis Core Exemptions
Praxis Core Exemptions
You can submit passing scores for the Praxis Core or an approved exemption such a qualifying or previous qualifying SAT, ACT scores OR a conferred Masters Degree. We strongly suggest taking the SAT, or SAT in place of the Praxis Core. Exam dates are not as frequent, so we encourage you to take your choice exam as soon as possible.
Fellows may be exempt from the Praxis Core requirement by submitting one of the following:
A combined Reading and Math score for the SAT exam equal to or greater than 1030 (pre-March 2016) or 1100 (March 2016 on).
A composite score on the ACT of 22 or greater.
OR
A degree conferred transcript, showing you have earned an advanced degree (MA or higher).
If you are using one of the above-mentioned Praxis Core exemptions, please submit proof of this within two weeks of your enrollment in the program. You will receive guidance on how to provide this notification upon enrollment.
