Welcome to the Walker Innovation Center! This brand new “tricked out” building will be the home to all our Innovation and Design camps. All of TMI’s Innovation and Design camps include the camp programming, lunch, snacks and swimming. (This does not include the 1/2 day Roblox camp.)

AR/ AI Camp (Augmented Reality/ Artificial Intelligence)
June 10 - 14 (Mon-Fri)
July 15 -19 (Mon-Fri)
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Grades: 5th- 9th

Only being offered once this summer, the Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence middle school camp is an exciting opportunity for students to explore the latest technologies in computer science. Campers will use MIT App Inventor and 3Dbear to create augmented reality experiences, as well as learn about artificial intelligence and how it can be applied to real-world problems. Throughout the camp, students will engage in a variety of hands-on activities, including building their own Alexa skills such as Alexa Hello World, Alexa Calculator, Alexa Number Guessing Game, and Alexa Messenger. These activities will allow students to learn how to program voice-based applications and create their own voice-activated devices. By the end of the camp, campers will have gained valuable skills in programming, design, and problem-solving, and will have a deeper understanding of the potential of augmented reality and artificial intelligence. LEGO STOP ANIMATION CAMP
Session 1: July 8 - 12 (Mon - Fri)
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The Lego stop animation camp is a fun and creative opportunity for campers to explore the world of animation and design. During the camp, campers will learn the basics of stop motion animation, storyboard design, researching and cinematic analysis. They will work in teams to bring their stories to life! Each week we will have different themes (Westerns, Sci-fi/ Fantasy, and Action etc.) Campers will bring their visions to life utilizing Legos, graphic design, sound engineering and movie making software. Campers will end camp with the last afternoon ending in a red carpet premiere where friends and family are invited to watch Register here.

ENGINEERING OLYMPICS CAMP
Session 1: June 3 - 7
Session 2: June 24 - 28

The Engineering Olympics Camp is an exciting opportunity for campers to explore the world of engineering! Over the course of camp, campers will participate in a variety of engineering challenges and competitions, designed to test their problem solving, creativity, design process and teamwork skills. Campers will learn how to implement the engineering design process, to properly research, draft, create prototypes, and create solutions to complete design challenges.
From building and programming robots, to designing and constructing structures, the engineering Olympics camp will provide an immersive and engaging experience for campers who want to go GOLD for engineering! Register here.

ROBOTS, LASERS, AND 3D PRINTERS CAMP!
Session 1: June 17 - 21 (Mon - Fri) This session is a 4-day camp/ No camp on Wednesday the 19th of June

Welcome to an amazing summer of exciting robotics and engineering fun! In this week-long camp, students will be immersed in a world where their imagination is their only limitation. Each student will be guided through different tutorials on how to build tanks, box robots, and sumo robots using the EV3 and Spike Prime Lego platforms. Students will also take an in-depth look into the area of laser art creation and 3D printing. Students will learn how to render items in 3D, learn how to size them correctly for real world applications, and print them using TMI’s very own 3D printing farm! So join us as we take our love for robotics and 3D printing to the next level! Includes the camp programming, lunch, snack and swimming.
***Please Note*** We encourage campers to have their own laptop (no Chromebook) and mouse, with specs of at least 8GB of RAM, Intel i5 processor or equivalent, at least Windows 8.5 or Mac equivalent, and at least 18GB of free space on their hard drive.

Welcome to the world of LEGO MASTERS Jr.! Here, the sky's the limit as you unleash your imagination and dive headfirst into a world of colorful bricks, creative challenges, and endless possibilities. Throughout this day-long summer camp, you'll have access to thousands of LEGO bricks that will give you the power to create anything your heart desires. Each day, you'll be presented with exciting challenges that will put your building skills to the test, encouraging you to build the most jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring, and eye-catching designs.
Picture this: you're building the perfect Lego Birthday Cake, complete with towering layers of delicious bricks and frosting made of pure imagination. Or perhaps you're constructing the tallest Lego marble run, watching as marbles race through twists and turns, launching to new heights and testing the limits of your design.
As the day progresses, you'll get the chance to showcase your unique creations and share your building strategies with your fellow campers. You'll also draw inspiration from some of the best brick-building entertainment out there, including parts of the "Lego Movie," "Ninjago," and the hit TV show "Master Builders." MINECRAFT CHAMPIONS CAMP!

So you think you’re a pro at Minecraft? Then this camp is for you! This camp has been designed to challenge even the most avid crafters. Campers will be placed into teams that will be given specific tasks and challenges. Each member of the team will bring a different set of skills that will aid in the success and survival of the team. Throughout the week campers will build, tear down, run, and even fly within the game to win mini-games, unlock new worlds, and achieve their goals! This camp will certainly be a block of TNT blast! Experience with playing Minecraft on a computer is a must. Includes the camp programming, lunch, snack and swimming.

In the Modding for Minecraft camp you will learn how to make your own blocks, weapons, armor, creatures and even biomes! By the end of this camp you will know how to code in Java and be able to share your Minecraft mod with all of your friends. Experience with playing Minecraft on a computer is a must.
