Middle School Athletics
Welcome from the Athletic Director
Hello Panther Families!
From everyone in the Athletic Department, we are excited to prepare for another year of excellence, sportsmanship, and the holistic development of every student-athlete. At TMI, athletics are more than competition - they are an extension of the classroom where young men and women learn resilience, leadership, teamwork, and integrity. Whether you’re stepping onto a field, court, track, or pool deck, you are representing not only yourself but your team, your school, and a legacy of Panther Pride. Our goal is to create an environment where every athlete feels supported, challenged, and inspired. We believe in honoring the process, putting in the work, and competing with character. Thank you for being a part of the TMI Athletic community. Let’s make this season one of growth, gratitude, great memories, and fun!

TMI Summer Camps
Please use the following link to explore TMI summer camps. This is a great opportunity to be on campus early, make friends, and build a relationship with the coaching staff.
Athletic Uniforms
Team competition uniforms will be handed out by the sport’s coaching staff and the Athletic Department prior to the first game. All uniforms must be kept in good condition and returned at the deadline set by the Athletic Department.
BSN Team Stores
The Athletic Department will announce through Head Coach communication and News & Notes when TMI team stores will be open. Team stores are completely voluntary and offer all student-athletes and fans the opportunity to purchase sport-specific gear.
Locker Rooms
All student-athletes have access to the locker rooms located on the lower level of the Frost Athletic Center. Should a student want a personal locker, they must supply their own lock for the locker.
Volleyball Program
If you are interested in participating in our middle school or high school volleyball program, we encourage you to reach out for more information. Our program is designed to support student-athletes who have a love of the game while promoting teamwork, discipline, and athletic development in a positive and structured environment. We look forward to connecting with you and sharing more about our volleyball program! Please contact Coach J directly (njunell@tmi-sa.org) for additional information and to be added to our email list.

Middle School Athletic Information
Athletic/Physical Education Requirement
Each student is required to participate in at least one season of a sport or a physical education (PE) class during the academic year. Most TMI student-athletes participate in all three seasons.
Team Tryouts and Selections
All students who are signed up for a sport will participate in a tryout period. The Athletic Department works closely with Head Coaches to ensure an equitable evaluation process has taken place, so that TMI is represented by competitive and balanced teams.
In the event a student does not make the team, they will be provided the option to join a team that does not require tryouts.
Physical Education Course
Students will be taught by Coach John Stringer, a certified instructor in CSCS, SCCC, and USAW. Students enrolled in the PE course will learn proper body mechanics in the weight room, engage in cardio on the Upper Field, and participate in teambuilding fun and games.
This course is offered only in the Fall and Spring.
Alternative Season Options
Early Release from school at 2:20 pm.
Study Hall in the library. Dismissal at 3:45 pm.
