Summer Reading
As you read, All Thirteen by Christina Soontornvat, focus on how the author uses text features and references multiple sources to document this incredible cave rescue. During the first few weeks of school, you will follow the same investigative process to research, paraphrase, and present your own findings on another remarkable rescue from history.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program
All students in grades 6-12 are required to bring a laptop computer to school each day. Laptops have far more access compared to mobile devices and will expose students to integrated digital tools that will prepare them for future success. This model will allow students and teachers to consistently use technology as a tool for learning, exploration, and organization. More details about the BYOD program:

An approved computer with a charger and protective covering
Chromebooks and tablets/iPads are not permitted
Working earbuds/headphones
Two 2-inch binders of different colors (one for each block day)
Suggested: One black binder for Black Day classes and one orange binder for Orange Day classes
Six Dividers with folder pockets included for each class as labeled below:
Green divider: Math
Yellow divider: Science
Blue divider: History
Red divider: English
Purple divider: Language (+ 3 additional dividers for Latin ONLY)
Orange divider: Fine Arts
3-subject or more spiral notebook
One spiral notebook (any color)
College-ruled loose leaf notebook paper
Graph paper loose leaf notebook paper
Composition book for math (not a spiral notebook)
Pencil pouch with all the following items:
Pencils with erasers
Highlighters
Pens (red, blue, and black ink are needed)
Vinyl erasers
Colored pencils
Scissors
Tape
3 glue sticks
TI-84 Calculator
Art Only: 9x12 or small spiral sketchbook and fine-tip black ink pen (recommended: Sakura Pigma Micron)
Intro to Innovation & Design Only: 8GB or larger USB thumb drive
