Practicing math and language arts skills daily at home helps to reinforce what we are learning in the classroom!

Focus on quality time spent practicing skills rather than number of problems completed. It is suggested that1st Graders practice each night for 10 minutes.
Always have a piece of paper and pencil at hand when on IXL. Students are ALWAYS encouraged to show their work in math.
Help your child understand the directions and the concept. If the activity is too difficult and becomes frustrating for the child and/or parent, skip it and come back to it a later day!
Feel free to review old concepts at any time. Activities marked with yellow stars have already been taught in class and are great problems to practice at home.
If you finish all the assigned skills, feel free to challenge yourself with other ones!
It's OK if you do not complete all IXL activities in a week! Remember, quality over quantity!
