Tips for completing IXL

• Focus on quality time spent practicing skills rather than number of problems completed. It is suggested that1st Graders practice each night for 10 minutes. 

• Always have a piece of paper and pencil at hand when on IXL. Students are ALWAYS encouraged to show their work in math.

• Help your child understand the directions and the concept. If the activity is too difficult and becomes frustrating for the child and/or parent, skip it and come back to it a later day!  

• Feel free to review old concepts at any time. Activities marked with yellow stars have already been taught in class and are great problems to practice at home. 

• If you finish all the assigned skills, feel free to challenge yourself with other ones! 

• It's  OK if you do not complete all IXL activities in a week! Remember, quality over quantity!
