Fingerprinting
All regular classroom volunteers and field trip chaperones will need to be fingerprinted. The required form is in Quick Links on the website or in the school office. The cost is $89 and is a one-time fee. ($40 paid at time of fingerprinting and $49 added to your Gradelink account.) Our volunteer handbook is on the website for more information.
Mandated Reporting
Per the new CA law (SB848), all school employees and volunteers (in the classroom, on field trips, etc.) must complete the Mandated Reporting training before working or volunteering. Visitors do not need to be fingerprinted or complete the training (i.e., attending chapel, character trait awards, class parties, or school concerts). Please email Lora Spurlock at Lspurlock@tlcs.tlc.org to get a link for the mandated reporting training.

"While we need and greatly appreciate the parents who drive and chaperone our trips, the following rules apply to ALL parent drivers/chaperones:
1. Drivers must have proof of insurance form filled out each year and filed in the office along with a copy of a valid driver’s license and a completed live scan fingerprinting background check.
2. Drivers must caravan TO and FROM the place of the field trip. Do NOT make any unnecessary stops or deviate from the planned route. Please continue to supervise the students when you return to campus until the classroom teacher has returned to take charge of the class.
3. Students 12 years old and younger should NOT ride in the front seat of any vehicle.
4. Students should be under a lap and/or shoulder restraint in the car at all times.
5. Please park your car in the lot (NEVER the circle) and we will bring the students out to you.
6. Please do not request, complain, or try to change the car assignments. Field trips can get complicated enough without having to meet individual requests.
7. Only students enrolled at TLCS may go on school field trips. Siblings in other grades at TLCS, preschoolers of TLCS parents, and students from other schools may not attend field trips. The school carries no insurance for such.
8. Parents, acting as chaperones, are responsible for the children assigned to them the entire time of the field trip."
