Six students (6) of SKR, comprising Grade 9 and 10 students, recently participated in the Australian Youth Summit #2 on July 25th, an event designed to empower young Australians by providing a platform to discuss pressing issues on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and propose innovative solutions. The summit is attended by a diverse group of young leaders from Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, and Thailand. The event had dynamic discussions on climate change, mental health, and digital literacy. The six students engaged in interactive workshops, networked with peers and experts, and contributed their unique perspectives to the national dialogue, aiming to drive positive change within their communities.
These students demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and commitment throughout the summit. They not only voiced their concerns and ideas but also collaborated on action plans to address the challenges discussed. By the end of the event, they had developed concrete proposals to present to policymakers and community leaders. Their participation underscored the importance of involving youth in decision-making processes, showcasing their potential to influence future policies and initiatives. The experience at the Australian Youth Summit #2 empowered these students to continue their advocacy work with renewed vigor and a stronger sense of purpose.
