In order for the Seminar program to be successful, it will require staff to be intentional about their Seminar offerings and use this time purposefully to support/enrich students' learning. Therefore, we have created staff expectations and structures to support the program.
Staff Expectations:
All teachers (except shared teachers) will provide seminar sessions and assist with larger sessions such as the reading and homework rooms.
Teachers will take attendance at the start of Seminar.
Teachers will have their Seminar sessions for the following week entered into Adaptive Scheduler no later than 7:00 a.m. every Monday.
Teachers will make their student selections for their sessions by Monday at 7:00 a.m.
Teachers will prioritize Seminar for students who need intervention/support. Teachers will utilize DLC meetings to determine interventions needed and identify students for support.
If teachers have students with grades below 70%, the teachers should select them for intervention.
Administration will monitor the Seminar program and provide opportunities for student, parent, and staff feedback.
Only academic activities may take place during Seminar.
