In order to provide individualized attention to each student and to maximize teaching effectiveness, the religious education program at the local church should adopt a small class approach. In principle, the class size should not exceed twenty (20) students and the age span of students in the same class should not exceed five years.
Each student is assigned to a class based on his age and grade level in school. There are six classes in total based on the needs of the church.
Kindergarten (K): Age 4-5
Elementary 1 (E1): Grade 1-3 or age 6-8
Elementary 2 (E2): Grade 4-6 or age 9-11
Junior Youth 1 (J1): Grade 7-9 or age 12-14
Junior Youth 2 (J2): Grade 10-12 or age 15-17
Senior Youth (SY): College students or age 18-22
The school year of the religious education program begins on September 1 and ends on August 31 of the following year. There are four quarters in each calendar year:
Quarter 1 or Fall Quarter: September 1 - November 30
Quarter 2 or Winter Quarter: December 1 - Last day of February of the following year
Quarter 3 or Spring Quarter: March 1 - May 31
Quarter 4 or Summer Quarter: June 1 - August 31
Students graduating from kindergarten, grades 3, 6, 9, 12, or college/university are automatically advance to the next class level. A graduation is held during the RE Year-End and Opening Ceremony Service.
