Arup is a British multinational professional services firm headquartered in London that provides design, engineering, architecture, planning, and advisory services across every aspect of the built environment.
They are offering the chance for Y12 students to spend a week working on a real-life engineering project alongside Arup engineers, as well as visiting an HS2 site, gaining first-hand insight into one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects.

Placements are engaging, real-life workplace experiences, where talented year 12 students are placed at the heart of a UK host organisation. They are a fantastic opportunity for students to apply skills and knowledge learned at school while providing a meaningful contribution to the work of researchers and industry professionals.
Research Placements are 2-week collaborations with a STEM-related knowledge expert on a live research question or area of development.
Experience Placements are 5-day explorations with industry experts to identify essential skills needed for employment in STEM sectors.

AAB is an audit, tax and business advisory services firm, offering work experience opportunities for Y11 and Y12.
Y11 Summer Work Experience
1-2 week summer work experience placements, providing students with hands-on insight into the industry and company. This is a great chance for Year 11 students to gain insight into the professional world and learn more about how AAB support clients and the type of work we do.
Work experience students who complete the programme successfully and are interested in gaining further experience may be invited back to undertake a paid summer placement the following year.
Y12 Paid Summer Placements
4-8 week paid placements over the summer holidays. These placements give students in-depth exposure to the world of work and AAB, and will involve learning the basics of technical tax, shadowing at client meetings, and drafting up client advice and compliance deliverables.
Placement students who complete the programme successfully and are looking to undertake an apprenticeship after finishing 6th Form may be offered a full-time apprenticeship role at the end of the programme.
Students interested in either programme should send their CV and a brief cover letter with amy.rubens@aab.uk and jessica.constable@aab.uk (Amy is a former Tiffin Girls' student). Placements can take place during the school holidays but they are also able to accommodate other time in the year.

Futures Week is Biggin Hill's bi-annual event (taking place every February and October half term) designed to inspire and encourage young people interested in pursuing a career in the aviation industry.
The initiative provides 15 young people, aged 15-18 years, the opportunity to experience the many roles available in aviation, both at London Biggin Hill & beyond.
During the week, students experience a range of interactive activities and careers advice, talks from inspirational people and immersive visits to our resident aerospace companies.

Follow multiple patients over a 6-month period, as they go from their initial injury to recovery. Learn about the many different healthcare professionals that are involved in a patient’s care. It gives students a chance to see them in action in various settings from the ward to the community. It is also a fantastic opportunity to see them work together in a multidisciplinary team.
Disciplines covered include Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedicine, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Radiography, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Speech and Language Therapy and Pharmacy.

is an initiative to offer short placements in the different clinical areas of GOSH to students thinking of applying for medicine at university.
This programme is suitable for students aged 16-19 years (ideally sixth form students post GCSE) and runs throughout the year, offering 1-to-4-day placements in the speciality of the student’s choice, dependent upon availability of places and supervising staff.
The purpose of the programme is to give an idea of what it is like to work in the NHS by shadowing clinical and nursing staff; this is a type of work experience although there is no hands-on work. Students are always supervised during this placement.
