Our TiffinTalk on 5 March was on careers in engineering. We had 3 speakers, all former students, who were at different stages of their career in a range of engineering disciplines -
Githana Gnanavel studied chemical engineering at Birmingham University and has worked as a process engineer at both Mondelez Bournville and Procter and Gamble. She is currently a management consultant at Credera
Kobi Hariram studied mechanical engineering at Loughborough University and now works for Transport for London as a senior maintenance support technician on the Elizabeth Line
Nida Anis is a junior motorsport engineer and media manager for motor racing teams, working trackside in Formula 4, Formula Regional and Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia

Our TiffinTalk on 13 November 2023 focussed on careers in journalism, with 3 former students -
Abbie Llewelyn, who has worked in several national newsrooms including 4 years at The Daily Express, and is now a reporter at the House of Lords for PA Media
Charlie Gowans-Eglinton, a freelance journalist, who has previously worked as acting fashion editor at The Times and senior fashion editor at The Daily Telegraph, as well as working for Style, Grazia and Elle magazines. She is also co-founder of the Wingwoman podcast
Sue Douglas, who began her career as a medical journalist, before writing for The Daily Mail and News of the World, and going on to be assistant editor of The Daily Mail, deputy editor of The Sunday Times and editor of The Sunday Express. She has also worked in magazine publishing for Arcus Infrastructure Partners LLP, an infrastructure private equity fund

On 17 May 2023 we had two former students talking about their experiences in working in mental health -
Catherine Richardson is a clinical psychologist with her own practice in Spain, Madrid Mental Wellbeing. She is experienced in delivering individual therapy, as well as offering group courses in Mental Health First Aid, often using video games, cartoons and films in her sessions to illustrate concepts and practise skills
Isobel Walker is a junior doctor in Nottingham with a special interest in mental health in medicine, and medical education. She is working to improve wellbeing in the profession
