Room: Prairie A

Description

Mahpiya Luta Owayawa (Red Cloud School) is in the process of becoming a k-12 Dual immersion state accredited school. We currently have grades K-5 in a 90-10 model and are looking forward to moving up the grades. We have good data on our success, as our scores are either better or the equivalent prior to us implementing immerision. However, this is not an easy endeavor as we have to create our own curriculum, learn to speak Lakota and obtain licensure. Come hear our story on our way to change Lakota education on the Pine Ridge Reservation.
