Designed by University of Texas to provide the rigor and skill development needed to be successful at a world class university after high school graduation.
This course requires students to do their 'learning' outside of the classroom...so that class time can be used for collaboration between peers.
High School grades will follow the district policy of a minimum of two test grades (40%) and 10 daily grades (60%) per grading period. Those grades will come from:
Learning Module notes that students take while exploring the section content.
OnRamps quizzes (lab quizzes and course quizzes) will count as test grades for high school grades.
OnRamps Unit Exams will count as double test grades in the high school gradebook.
Post-lab conclusions and Pre-labs will count as daily grades in the high school gradebook.
Classroom activities and labs will count as daily grades for high school grades.
In April students will get to decide if they are interested in accepting their college grade...if they choose to do so they will have credit (4 hours-biology lecture and biology lab) from the University of Texas at Austin. If they choose not to accept their college grade, then the course will NOT show up on any college transcript.
Lab Grades for the UT course include Pre-labs, Post-lab quizzes, and Post-lab conclusions.
