Use of it
& stem education
IT@Ti-I
IT in education is frequently used in lessons to facilitate learning & teaching in both junior forms & senior forms.
BYOD Policy
The school adheres to the BYOD policy. Students can bring their own devices to school.
With teachers’ supervision, students can use electronic devices such as iPads, e-Readers, or Chromebooks in the class.
This can enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching, classroom interaction as well as students’ ability in self-directed learning, problem-solving and collaboration.
Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a platform where e-teaching and e-learning take place. Teachers can post materials and assign tasks while students browse learning resources, exchange comments and submit homework.
With the help of our IT Administration Committee, all learning groups (e.g. electives, split oral classes) have a unique virtual classroom. The platform is widely used by teachers and students, and is particularly useful during class suspension.
Many e-Learning tools can be integrated with Google Classroom; for instance, EdPuzzle for video streaming and Quizizz for interactive short tests, and these multi-functional, uniform platforms make everything simpler.
Examples of e-Learning tool
Edpuzzle
Teachers upload the teaching video to this platform. Students can watch it at their own pace.
Teachers can check if students are watching the assigned videos, how many times they have watched, and check their understanding by setting some questions in videos.
It is a very useful platform to conduct flipped classroom.
Videos can be assigned to Google Classroom directly.
Mentimeter
Teachers can build interactive presentations by adding polls, quizzes and more.
Students can use their electronic devices to connect to a presentation and visualize their responses in real-time to create an interactive experience.
Class dojo
Class Dojo is a continuous assessment platform that encourages active participation in class.
Teachers can add points to individual students to award their hard work and active participation, or to deduct points if they are spoiling the class learning atmosphere.
Kahoot!
With the app Kahoot!, students answer quizzes in real-time while competing with their classmates and the teacher can see performance statistics instantly.
Teachers can also work as a team to produce and share Kahoot! quizzes.
Schoology
Schoology is the Learning Management System (LMS) for senior Form ICT classes.
It offers an integrated environment for all learning and teaching activities and assessments.
SOCRATIVE
Socrative offers an interactive and fun environment for teachers to check students' understanding instantly.
Teachers can provide timely feedbacks and instructions to areas in which students need more attention.
